Frequently Asked Questions and Costs

“Thank you so much for helping me unravel my over thinking and helping me to trust my own judgement. I could never work out what was my fault (probably a hangover from my childhood) and whether I was being unreasonable with my wife or whether her demands were reasonable. Gradually I realised that I could decide and set some boundaries for myself and that this would not lead to marital breakdown, in fact it has resulted in an improved relationship for both of us”
PQ Southampton

What will it cost?
For counselling and personal coaching, £40 for either a face to face or telephone session. Telephone sessions have to be prepaid using Paypal. Counselling session are payable prior to or at the beginning of the session. A block of sessions can be pre-paid if preferred.

How can I book and appointment?
Ring me and we can arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

Is counselling or coaching right for me?
At our first meeting we can discuss what you want to achieve and it is an opportunity for you to assess whether we can develop a therapeutic relationship within which we can work together beneficially for you.

How often are the sessions?
Sessions are generally weekly and last for 50 minutes. I do have some slots for fortnightly sessions. They are held at a mutually agreed time and this is your personal space for therapy or coaching.

If you are an ORGANISATION requesting workplace counselling or business coaching within the workplace please ring me to discuss your requirements and obtain a quote.

What type of counselling or coaching will I receive?
It will be tailored to meet your specific needs. I am an integrative counsellor and have experience of using a variety of approaches to suit you including: Relational therapy, Transactional analysis, Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Mindfulness, Solution Focused Brief work and an array of workplace related techniques.

I am also happy to undertake telephone counselling or a mixture of face to face and telephone counselling.

Why would I want telephone counselling?
For some people it may not be possible to fit it into their schedule, they may not have transport or have responsibilities for young children or be a carer for an adult which prevents them for making a face to face appointment. Alternatively for some the thought of having to see someone face to face is not something they want to commit too, but they would like to speak to someone anonymously.

The advantages of telephone counselling can be that:
  • If you do not wish to speak to someone who is in your local area you can ring me from anywhere in the UK
  • You can fit it into your schedule and ring from where you are so that there is no need to travel to where I am, you can ring for home or elsewhere.
  • Some people feel that it is easier to open up and talk frankly over the phone
  • Your anonymity is completely preserved as you can pay using Paypal a recognised save third party payment provider and prefix your telephone number with 141 (in the UK) before dialing my number, which keeps your number private
